“I would like to make Hugo Boss campaign and work again with Armani
and Vuitton”
If we talk about male’s models international repercussion, we can not
step aside Andrés Velencoso. This attractive model from Tossa de Mar has
been the face of Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, Chanel and others
campaigns. As one
of the masters of ceremony in the Big Final of the VI Edition Pantene
hair, he told us some of his projects and anxieties. By Clara Sánchez de

Q – Many times it’s said that to have success people need to
live the country. Do you agree?
Andres – Well, I am the example of that. The truth is that in
Spain there are some people that succeed in a short time, but to others
it takes more time and some never make it. Also I think luck has a lot
of influence.
Q – What fashion aspects are more in a need for new projects?
A – People’s humbleness. Also we should turn male’s fashion
around especially here in Spain but also in the world. But it’s
understandable that more attention is dedicated to women.
Q – You’ve worked with the best brands, wish project would you
like to repeat?
A – Jennifer Lopez experience was very good and it was that, that
made me recognizable in Spain. I would work again with Louis Vuitton. At
that level, why not?
Q – Which photographers would you like to work with?
A – I would like to work with photographers like Steven Meisel,
Mario Testino and Bruce Weber and also with the brands that they
represent.
Q – Do you practice any sport or yoga?
A – I started to practice Bikram Yoga in New York. We’ve practice
at 120ºF but I’ve found it very hard. Also, I’ve joined a group with a
teacher that knew a lot, I was new there and I’ve ended it by hurting
myself. One day, talking to Cameron he told me that I should pick a
private teacher. Yoga is one of the things that are on my mind and I
plan to do it. But I don’t exercise a lot in the gym like everyone
thinks. Sometimes I drink beer and eat tortilla and when I can I do
sports.
Q – After being a model, would you like to do TV or cinema?
A – Not for now. I think you need to prepare yourself and work a
lot before decide something. TV isn’t like fashion that when you do
something four persons see it, it has a huge projection. If I reach to
TV, I would like to
be prepared. We’ll see…
Q – Which designers would you like to work with?
A – I would like to make Hugo Boss campaign and work again with
Giorgio Armani and Louis Vuitton because those were great experiences to
me. Also with Prada but I think I’m not their type.
Q – Your life has changed since you’ve became famous?
A – From the start. Since you’re recognized on the streets, you
go buy something and people comment “Look, it’s Velencoso!” it changes
your life a bit.
Q – Do you have a girlfriend?
A – No, I don’t. And it’s not a matter of time because to know
somebody and to share a thousand of personal things you need to have
luck.
